AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH INTERFAITH PARTNERSHIP FOR THE HOMELESS REGARDING LOW-BARRIER SHELTER SERVICES

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Social Services has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless regarding low-barrier shelter services in an amount not to exceed $578,482 for a term commencing November 1, 2023 and ending April 30, 2024, and

 

WHEREAS, Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless operates the Safe Haven Shelter for individuals who face barriers to accessing traditional shelters, including substance abuse, behavioral challenges, and untreated mental illness, and

 

WHEREAS, The Safe Haven Shelter provides overnight shelter, a hot meal, free laundry services, showers, clothing, hygiene items, and case management services to individuals who have no other options for shelter and would otherwise be residing on the street or in other places not meant for human habitation, now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into agreement with Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless, Albany, NY 12206 regarding low-barrier shelter services in an amount not to exceed $578,482 for a term commencing November 1, 2023 and ending April 30, 2024, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
