AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION AND AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF NEW YORK, DIVISION OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY SERVICES REGARDING THE 2021-2022 HAZARDOUS MATERIALS EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS GRANT AND AMENDING THE 2022 SHERIFF'S OFFICE BUDGET

WHEREAS, The Albany County Sheriff has requested authorization to submit a grant application to and enter into an agreement with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services for the FY 2022 Domestic Terrorism Prevention Grant in an amount of $172,413 for a term commencing September 1, 2022 and ending August 31, 2024, and
WHEREAS, The Sheriff has indicated that the aforementioned grant funds will be utilized to create a multidisciplinary Threat Assessment Management Team, and
WHEREAS, The Sheriff has also requested a budget amendment to incorporate the aforementioned grant funding into the 2022 Sheriff's Office Budget, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to submit a grant application to and enter into an agreement with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services for the FY 2022 Domestic Terrorism Prevention Grant in an amount of $172,413 for a term commencing September 1, 2022 and ending August 31, 2024, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the 2022 Sheriff's Office Budget is hereby amended as follows:
Increase Revenue Account A3306 Homeland Security by $172,413
Increase Appropriation Account A3110.1 by $99,000 by increasing Line Item A3110 1 9900 Overtime by $99,000
Increase Appropriation Account A3110.4 by $73,413 by increasing Line Item A3110 4 4046 Fees for Services by $73,413
and, be it further
