AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 251 FOR 2021 REGARDING COVID-19 GRANT FUNDING AND AMENDING THE 2023 DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH BUDGET

By Audit and Finance Committee:

WHEREAS, By Resolution No. 251 for 2021, this Honorable Body authorized an agreement with the New York State Department of Health/Health Research, Inc., in an amount of $6,611,672 to support safe, in-person instruction in kindergarten through grade 12 schools in Albany County to slow the spread of COVID-19 for a term commencing July 1, 2021 and ending July 31, 2022, and

WHEREAS, By Resolution No. 210 for 2022, this Honorable Body authorized an amendment to Resolution No. 251 for 2021 to reflect an end date of July 31, 2023 rather than July 31, 2022, and

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Health has been notified that additional funding in the amount of $661,167 has been made available for this program, and has requested authorization to accept said funding for the program, and

WHEREAS, A budget amendment is necessary in order to incorporate said funding in the 2023 Department of Health budget, now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that Resolution No. 251 for 2021, as amended, is hereby further amended to reflect a total amount of $7,272,839 rather than $6,611,672 to support safe, in-person instruction in kindergarten through grade 12 schools in Albany County to slow the spread of COVID-19 for a term commencing July 1, 2021 and ending July 31, 2023, and, be it further

RESOLVED, That the 2023 Department of Health Budget is hereby amended as follows:

Increase Revenue Account A4319 ELC School Grant Revenue by $661,167

Increase Appropriation Account A4010.2 by $536,650 by increasing line item A4010 2 2080 Specialty Equipment by $536,650

Increase Appropriation Account A4010.4 by $124,517 by increasing the following line items:
Increase Line Item A4010 4 4020 Office Supplies by $5,100
