RESOLUTION NO. 269
APPOINTING FOUR MEMBERS TO THE ALBANY COUNTY COMMISSION ON REDISTRICTING

By Messrs. A. Joyce, Feeney, Clay, and Mauriello:
WHEREAS, The Albany County Charter requires the establishment of a Commission on Redistricting to advise the Legislature on whether and how the County Legislature should be redistricted when required, and
WHEREAS, The County Charter provides that such Commission shall contain nine (9) members, of which four initial appointments shall be made by the Majority Leader, Minority Leader, Chairperson of the Legislature, and the Chairperson of the Legislative Black Caucus, and
WHEREAS, The Majority Leader has recommended Thomas G. Clingan for appointment to the Commission on Redistricting, and
WHEREAS, The Minority Leader has recommended Mark McCumber for appointment to the Commission on Redistricting, and
WHEREAS, The Chairperson of the Legislature has recommended Sita Subbaram, PhD. for appointment to the Commission on Redistricting, and
WHEREAS, The Chairperson of the Legislative Black Caucus has recommended Joan A. Ramsey for appointment to the Commission on Redistricting, now, therefore be it,
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature, that the Albany County Commission on Redistricting is hereby established, and that Thomas G. Clingan, of Cohoes, NY; Mark McCumber, of Colonie, NY; Sita Subbaram, PhD. of Albany, NY; and Joan A. Ramsey of Albany, NY, are hereby appointed to the Commission for a term commencing immediately and ending upon the successful conclusion of the Albany County redistricting process, and, be it further,
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
