MAKING A SEQR DETERMINATION FOR THE SLUDGE PROCESSING IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

By Conservation, Sustainability, and Green Initiatives Committee:
WHEREAS, By Resolution No. 273 for 2024, this Honorable Body determined that the Sludge Processing Improvement Project (Project) for the Water Purification District was a Type 1 action for purposes of the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) which would not have a significant adverse impact on the environment and issued a negative declaration, and
WHEREAS, The Executive Director of the Water Purification District has indicated that there has been a change in the scope of the Project and a new SEQR determination is necessary, and
WHEREAS, The Project still qualifies as a Type 1 action for SEQR purposes, and
WHEREAS, The Department of Economic Development, Conservation and Planning has reviewed the Project and recommended that the Project’s new scope will not have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a negative declaration should be issued, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the Legislature is designated Lead Agency for this Project, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Legislature finds that has the Project’s new scope will not have a significant adverse impact on the environment and issues a negative declaration, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
