AUTHORIZING AGREEMENTS WITH THE NEW YORK STATE OFFICE FOR THE AGING AND THE ALBANY COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES REGARDING THE EXPANDED IN-HOME SERVICES FOR THE ELDERLY PROGRAM

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Albany County Department for Aging has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office for the Aging regarding the Expanded In-Home Services for the Elderly Program (EISEP) in the amount of $824,665 for the term commencing April 1, 2021 and ending March 31, 2022, and

WHEREAS, The Commissioner has also requested authorization to enter into an interdepartmental agreement with the Department of Social Services to provide EISEP case management services and assessments, and

WHEREAS, The Commissioner indicated that the funding, which requires a 34% County match, will be used by the Department for Aging in conjunction with the Albany County Department of Social Services to provide assessments, case management, and non-medical home care services for older adults in Albany County who are eligible for EISEP services, now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office for the Aging regarding EISEP in the amount of $824,665 for the term commencing April 1, 2021 and ending March 31, 2022, and, be it further

RESOLVED, That the County Executive is also authorized to enter into an interdepartmental agreement with the Department of Social Services to provide EISEP case management services and assessments, and, be it further

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreements as to form and content, and, be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Official...
