AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE ASSOCIATION OF COUNTY HEALTH OFFICIALS REGARDING THE CLIMATE CHANGE AND HEALTH ADAPTATION PROJECTS GRANT AND AMENDING THE 2026 DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH BUDGET

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Health has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Association of County Health Officials regarding the Climate Change and Health Adaptation Projects Grant in an amount of $3,000 for the term commencing March 1, 2026 and ending August 28, 2026, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that the funding will be used to create a Health and Health Safety Training Curriculum for children, develop pre and post training evaluation mechanisms, provide three Train the Trainer sessions with community partners, conduct trainings, and distribute 150 cooling kits, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has also indicated that a budget amendment is necessary to incorporate the aforementioned funding, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Association of County Health Officials regarding the Climate Change and Health Adaptation Projects Grant in an amount of $3,000 for the term commencing March 1, 2026 and ending August 28, 2026, and, be it further
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the 2026 Department of Health Budget is amended as follows:

and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
