AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION REGARDING THE TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES PROGRAM

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Public Works has requested authorization to submit a grant application to the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) regarding the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) in an amount up to $5 million for a term commencing December 1, 2023 and ending December 31, 2027, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that the grant funding will be used for pedestrian and bicycle improvements along various Albany County roadways, and requires a 20% County match, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to submit a grant application to the NYSDOT on behalf of the Department of Public Works regarding the TAP in an amount up to $5 million for a term commencing December 1, 2023 and ending December 31, 2027, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said grant application as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
