AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH REGARDING THE TOBACCO ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM AND AMENDING THE 2024 DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH BUDGET

WHEREAS, The Albany County Commissioner of Health has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Department of Health regarding the Tobacco Enforcement Program in an amount of $103,350 annually, for a total amount of $516,750, for a term commencing April 1, 2024 and ending March 31, 2029, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that the aforementioned grant funding will be used to enforce the Adolescent Tobacco Use Prevention Act and Clean Indoor Air Act, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has also requested a budget amendment to reflect a $10,003 increase in funding into the 2024 Department of Health Budget, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Department of Health regarding the Tobacco Enforcement Program in an amount of $103,350 annually, for a total amount of $516,750, for a term commencing April 1, 2024 and ending March 31, 2029, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the 2024 Department of Health Budget is amended as follows:
Increase Revenue Account A4010 0 3421 Youth Tobacco - ATUPA NYS by $10,003
Increase Appropriation Account A4010.2 by $10,003 by increasing the following line items:
Increase Line Item A4010 2 2001 Office Equipment by $5,000
Increase Line Item A4010 2 2050 Computer Equipment by $5,003
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
