AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FUNDING AND AN AGREEMENT WITH EMPIRE STATE DEVELOPMENT REGARDING BROADBAND INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS AND AMENDING THE 2025 ALBANY COUNTY BUDGET

WHEREAS, The County Executive has requested authorization to accept grant funding from and enter into an agreement with the Empire State Development’s ConnectALL Deployment – County Partnership Program regarding County broadband infrastructure improvements in the amount of $1,022,608 for the term commencing July 28, 2025 and ending December 31, 2028, and
WHEREAS, The County Executive has indicated that these County broadband infrastructure improvements, along with roughly $3,200,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funding, will improve broadband infrastructure throughout Albany County, and
WHEREAS, A budget amendment is necessary to accept said funding, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to accept grant funding from and enter into an agreement with the Empire State Development’s ConnectALL Deployment – County Partnership Program regarding County broadband infrastructure improvements in the amount of $1,022,608 for the term commencing July 28, 2025 and ending December 31, 2028, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the 2025 Albany County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
