AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS TO COORDINATE AND ASSUME LEAD AGENCY STATUS AND ISSUE A NEGATIVE DECLARATION FOR THE CR157 NEW KARNER ROAD CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Public Works has requested authorization to coordinate and assume lead agency status pursuant to the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) for the CR157 New Karner Road Improvement Project between US 20 Western Avenue and Watervliet Shaker Road, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that this Project has been designated a Type 1 action pursuant to SEQRA and that a full Environmental Assessment Form has been completed and circulated to all involved agencies and none objected to the County assuming lead agency status during the 30-day coordination period, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has further indicated that, after review, it has been recommended that the Project will not have a significant adverse impact on the environment pursuant to SEQRA, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that Albany County may coordinate lead agency status and declare itself lead agency pursuant to SEQRA for the CR157 New Karner Road Improvement Project between US 20 Western Avenue and Watervliet Shaker Road, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County is Lead Agency for this Project and the Legislature has considered the recommendation and materials submitted and hereby determines that the Project will not have a significant adverse impact on the environment and hereby issues a negative declaration, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
