AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE OFFICE FOR THE AGING REGARDING THE CONGREGATE SERVICES INITIATIVE PROGRAM

By Elder Care Committee:

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department for Aging has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office for the Aging regarding the Congregate Services Initiative Program in the amount of $6,512 for the term commencing April 1, 2022 and ending March 31, 2023, and

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that the funding, which requires a 25% County match, will be used to support a range of services including, but not limited to, congregate meal providers, information and assistance, transportation, socialization, education, and health and wellness activities as well as caregiver support for older adults in Albany County, now, therefore, be it

 

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office for the Aging regarding the Congregate Services Initiative program in the amount of $6,512 for the term commencing April 1, 2022 and ending March 31, 2023, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
