AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT OF THE COOPERATIVE EXTENSION ASSOCIATION OF ALBANY COUNTY FOR THE YEAR 2024

WHEREAS, The Cooperative Extension Association of Albany County, duly organized by and with the consent of Cornell University and in collaboration with the State College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, New York State College of Human Ecology, and New York State College of Veterinary Sciences for the purpose of community resources development, home economics, and 4-H in this County, has assumed local responsibility for educational programs aimed at the betterment of individuals, families, and communities in Albany County, and
WHEREAS, The State Legislature has provided funds for expenditure in Albany County in 2024 for the continuation of the programs and services of Cornell Cooperative Extension, including the development and execution of its Agriculture, Home Economics, Community Resources Development, and 4-H Divisions, as well as general programming, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the sum of $1,199,045 be appropriated and paid in quarterly installments of $299,761.25 toward the maintenance and support of Cornell Cooperative Extension for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2024 and ending December 31, 2024, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the Cooperative Extension Association of Albany County for the term January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
