RESOLUTION NO. 391

 

AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION REGARDING THE CONGESTION MITIGATION AND AIR QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

                     By Public Works Committee, Messrs. Feeney, Cleary and Commisso:

 

                     WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Albany County Department of Public Works has requested authorization to submit a grant application to the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) regarding the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program in an amount up to $5,000,000 for a term commencing December 1, 2021 and ending December 31, 2023, and

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that the grant funding will be used for the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Washington Avenue Extension (SR910D), Karner Rd., and Madison Avenue Extension, and NYSDOT will provide up to 80% of the total eligible project costs with a minimum 20% match provided by the County, now, therefore be it

 

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to submit a grant application to the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) regarding the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program and the construction of a roundabout in an amount up to $5,000,000 for a term commencing December 1, 2021 and ending December 31, 2023, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said grant application as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
