DESIGNATION OF NEWSPAPERS FOR PUBLICATION OF LEGAL NOTICES

WHEREAS, By virtue of the provisions of Section 214 of the County Law the Albany County Legislature is vested with the responsibility for the designation of official newspapers for the publication of legal notices, and
WHEREAS, In order to obtain the most favorable rates possible for the publication of legal notices, the County obtained proposals relating to the designation of newspapers in accordance with the requirements of the County's procurement policy, and
WHEREAS, Due consideration has been given by the Albany County Legislature to the designation of newspapers for the publication of the County’s local laws and notices, now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature, pursuant to the provisions of Section 214 of the County Law, that THE EVANGELIST and THE TIMES UNION are hereby designated as the official newspapers during the year 2022 with two one-year options to renew in accordance with the submitted proposal for the County of Albany for the publication of local laws, notices, and other matters required by law to be published, at fees to be paid at a rate no greater than those authorized by Section 70-a of the Public Officers Law, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
