AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH CORNELL COOPERATIVE EXTENSION REGARDING THE HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

By Social Services Committee and Mr. Miller:

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Social Services has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with Cornell Cooperative Extension regarding the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) in the amount of $160,000 for a term commencing October 1, 2022 and ending September 30, 2023, and

 

                     WHEREAS, HEAP is a state-supervised program that provides outreach and certification services to assist eligible low-income households, especially elderly and disabled individuals in Albany County in meeting the costs of home energy, now, therefore, be it

 

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with Cornell Cooperative Extension, Voorheesville, NY 12186 regarding the Home Energy Assistance Program in an amount not to exceed $160,000 for a term commencing October 1, 2022 and ending September 30, 2023, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate Cornell Cooperative Extension and County Officials.
