A LOCAL LAW OF THE COUNTY OF ALBANY, NEW YORK, PROVIDING FOR A CHANGE IN THE SALARY OF A COUNTY OFFICER DURING THEIR TERM OF OFFICE

PURSUANT TO SECTIONS 24 AND 27 OF THE MUNICIPAL HOME RULE LAW,
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the County of Albany as follows:
SECTION I.
By Local Law No. 7 for 2024, this Honorable Body provided for the creation of the position of Deputy Chairperson for the Albany County Legislature. Compensation commensurate with the duties of the Deputy Chairperson is warranted.
SECTION II.
The annual salary of the Deputy Chairperson shall be $37,405 effective January 1, 2025.
SECTION III.
If any clause, sentence or provision of this local law or the application thereof to any person or circumstance shall be adjudged by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the invalidity thereof shall not affect, impair or invalidate the remainder of the provisions of this local law or the application thereof to other persons and circumstances.
SECTION IV.
This County Legislature determines that this local law constitutes a “Type II action” pursuant to the provisions of the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA), and that no further action under SEQRA is required
SECTION V.
This Local Law is adopted subject to permissive referendum pursuant to Section 24 of the New York State Municipal Home Rule Law.
