AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH NANONATION REGARDING THE PROVISION OF KIOSKS FOR SNAP BENEFIT APPLICANTS AND RECIPIENTS AND AMENDING THE 2020 DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES BUDGET

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Social Services (DSS) has been notified by the New York State Office of Temporary Disability Assistance (OTDA) that Albany County has been awarded the amount of $102,893 for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Bonus Award Allocation, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has requested authorization to enter into an agreement for grant funding with OTDA regarding the aforementioned SNAP Bonus Award Allocation in an amount not to exceed $102,893 and to amend the 2020 DSS budget in order to incorporate the funding, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has also requested authorization to enter an agreement with Nanonation regarding the purchase of four SNAP Application Kiosks for clients and applicants to self-scan required documents and apply directly for SNAP benefits through myBenefits.gov in an amount not to exceed $149,160 for a term commencing March 1, 2020 and ending February 28, 2021, now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with NYS OTDA to accept grant funding in the amount of $102,893 regarding the SNAP Bonus Award Allocation, and, be it further
