AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 258 FOR 2018 REGARDING THE TOBACCO ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM

 

                     Introduced: 6/12/23

By Health Committee and Miller:

 

                     WHEREAS, By Resolution No. 258 for 2018, this Honorable Body authorized an agreement with the New York State Department of Health to continue enforcement provisions of the Adolescent Tobacco Use Prevention Act and the Clean Indoor Air Act for a term commencing April 1, 2018 through March 31, 2023 in an amount not to exceed $466,735, and

 

                     WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Health has indicated that the New York State Department of Health as issued a 12-month extension of the Tobacco Enforcement Program at current funding levels of $93,347 per year, and

 

                     WHEREAS, The Commissioner has requested an amendment to the agreement with New York State Department of Health in the amount of $93,347 to reflect a new total amount of $560,082, and

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner has also requested to amend the agreement to reflect an ending date of March 31, 2024, rather than March 31, 2023, now, therefore, be it

 

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that Resolution No. 258 for 2018 is hereby amended in the amount of $93,347 to reflect a new total amount of $560,082, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That Resolution No. 258 for 2018 is further amended to reflect an ending date of March 31, 2024, rather than March 31, 2023, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said amendments as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
