AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH REGARDING THE RABIES GRANT PROGRAM

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Health has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Department of Health regarding the Rabies Grant Program in an amount of $49,072 per year for a total amount of $147,216 for the term commencing April 1, 2022 and ending March 31, 2025, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that the funding will be used to cover reimbursements for the costs of mandatory human rabies treatment, preparation and shipment of animal specimens, pet vaccination clinics, and education and prevention activities, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Department of Health regarding the Rabies Grant Program in an amount of $49,072 per year for a total amount of $147,216 for the term commencing April 1, 2022 and ending March 31, 2025, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
