AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT FOR CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES TO PROVIDE VIRTUAL TRAINING TO CHILD PROTECTIVE WORKERS

                     By Social Services Committee and Miller:

 

WHEREAS, Pursuant to New York State Social Services Law, each County is authorized to adopt a local law, ordinance, or resolution to provide for a local department of social services to fulfill the training requirement through a distance learning method, excluding the annual in-service training requirement beginning on or after April 1, 2025, and

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) has requested authorization to provide virtual training to child protective workers beginning April 1, 2025, now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the DCYF is authorized to provide virtual training to child protective workers beginning April 1, 2025, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
